Get more energy, spare your roof
Our solar trackers power over 1,300 homes across Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Every moment of every day, all year long, they precisely follow the sun, producing 40% more than fixed panels on your roof or on the ground.
Roof-top solar installations come with some challenges. You might need to replace your roof before installation, or incur costs down the road if your roof needs repair after you add solar to it. Worse, your roof may not be properly aligned for ideal solar collection. Rooftops also collect snow, limiting your winter energy production.
A Solaflect tracker installation doesn’t affect your structure in any way, while making the most efficient use of its footprint on your property.
We don’t stop at installation, either.
We’ll remotely monitor your tracker’s performance, and on the rare occasion attention is needed, fix things before you’ve even noticed.

“The Solaflect people were flexible and imaginative in planning and in doing our site work. The installation was done thoughtfully and thoroughly, including clean-up. The system works perfectly, and follow-up by the staff has also been excellent. I have had solar systems in two other homes and this one is superior in all ways. It’s also worth mentioning that each and every person we worked with from Solaflect was considerate, knowledgeable, and a joy to have around. Five stars are not enough.”

Tracker FAQs
How does the tracking work?
With a bit of math, we can tell your tracker exactly where the sun will be in relation to your home on any given moment of any day, any month, for the next ten thousand years.
Whisper-quiet mechanisms constantly adjust your tracker throughout the day, maximizing the amount of sun you capture—a bonus of 40% compared to fixed panels.

What about snow?
At night, your tracker is stored vertically to the ground. While roof-mounted panels collect mounds of snow, your tracker will shrug off most of it. Remaining frost will melt the next time the sun comes out, as your panels are always in the best position to absorb its energy.
What happens during a storm?
Your tracker includes an onboard wind monitor that's collecting data in real time. During high winds, your tracker will stow itself flat like a table, allowing wind to mostly bypass its surface. After the storm passes, your tracker will resume its normal motion.
Do you monitor the system after installation?
We’ll watch over your tracker throughout the life of the installation. Our onboard control systems report errors back to our office and keep their own software up to date. Issues are rare, and we usually detect anything that needs a quick fix before you do. We correct most remotely, but we'll have a truck on the way if necessary.
Will you have to dig up my yard?
Just a little! A narrow trench will connect your tracker to your existing electrical panel. We’ll put everything back just the way we found it.
How do solar trackers produce more energy?
It's only when a solar panel is facing directly at the sun that it captures maximum energy. When the sun hits a solar panel at an angle, like on a roof, you miss out on a lot of power.
Even on a perfectly south-facing roof, there are hours in the day where the sun doesn't hit the solar panels at all. Throughout the year, accurately tracking the sun translates into 40% more electricity per solar panel.
Put differently, you'd need 40% more solar panels on a roof to do the same job.
